The Ski Community is a private member's group led by George Treble - BASI level 4 ski instructor in the Alps & Director of Alpine Tutorials. 

An online platform designed to help skiers improve their level through expert guidance, tips, tutorials and feeback. 

WHY JOIN US?

Time on the slopes is preciously short and skiing can be difficult to master. Correct technique is counter-intuitive and quality instruction is expensive and hard to find. On top of all that, skiing can be a dangerous sport and accident and injury can be serious.

These are the pain points I am trying to help people solve - by offering a community group where skiers can get direct access to my instruction and guidance, wherever you are in the world.

If you would like to progress from intermediate to advanced skiing, I can be your mentor.

Hi folks, I'm George, 34yrs old, from Devon in England. I am currently based in Morzine Avoriaz in Les Portes du Soleil ski area in the Alps on the border between France and Switzerland. I have 15 years of ski instructing experience having lived and worked in NZ, Japan and The Alps and I hold the highest international certification, a BASI Level 4 ISTD.

I teach all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes working for my ski school in Avoriaz. This winter, I am also setting up an online coaching cohort with the goal of helping you to progress from an intermediate to advanced level.

For those of you going skiing this winter, I am on a mission to solve your pain points and SWAP them for joy points.

Pain Points

  • Time on snow is preciously short.
  • Skiing is a dangerous sport. Accidents happen. Injuries can be bad.
  • Skiing technique is counter- intuitive.
  • Quality ski instruction is expensive.

The majority of those who learn how to ski as an adult get stuck in the intermediate plateau. 

They go through the beginner phase, progress toward parallel skiing, make the same common mistakes and then plateau.

They get around in rough parallel alright, on blue and easy red slopes, but then struggle with any or all of the following:

  • Variable snow conditions, like bumps or patches of ice.
  • Speeding up without feeling like you're losing control. 
  • Managing crowded slopes and narrow sections confidently and safely.
  • Taking on steeper slopes on hard reds and black runs.
  • Looking even remotely stylish whilst doing any of the above...

It is also a shame that so many families are not even able to ski together because some people want to go a lot slower or faster than others. 

Does any of this sound familiar?

I've seen people struggling with all of the above hundreds of times during my work as a ski instructor.  

I'm lucky to teach a pretty complete spectrum at my ski school in the French & Swiss Alps, from first timer 4 year olds all the way up to backcountry guiding and instructor avalanche training courses. 

It's nice to have the variety, but the majority of the work of most ski instructors is helping those who are stuck in the dreaded intermediate plateau. This is our bread and butter.

It's a shame to see skiers who can't progress from intermediate to advanced, because not only are they missing out on a lot of fun, but it's also pretty dangerous.

The blue runs are the most crowded, and full of the most out-of-control skiers and snowboarders. 

It's much safer to be on a quiet black run, in control, than to be making nervous turns through mixed traffic on a blue run.

For all of the reasons above, I am focusing most of my current efforts helping intermediates make the progression to being advanced.

I will be setting up a private community platform of intermediate skiers in a similar boat. It’s an exclusive, members-only community hosted on Kajabi – a distraction-free, dedicated platform beyond the noise of social media.  

Participate in challenges, ask questions, share your progress and celebrate wins – all within a supportive community platform where I can deliver online coaching and mentorship most effectively.  

This is the ideal way to fast track your skiing progression from intermediate to advanced, and will run from the beginning of December until the end of April 2025.  

Alongside all that, you will gain full access to the online course; a sequence of 25 tutorials organised from beginner to intermediate to advanced. Watch on any screen, wherever you are, whenever you like and as many times as you wish.
